Trauma informed Coaching with Freedom Movement
What makes Freedom Movement coaches different?Â
For our Freedom Movement coaches, Jesus is not simply a part of the coaching process, but the center of it. Biblical truth serves as the foundation for how our coaches come alongside individuals in their stories to help bring healing, clarity, purpose, and courage to step into the person God designed them to be.Â
Freedom Movement’s trauma-informed coaching staff are certified through Freedom Movement’s coaching certification program. Each coach brings anywhere between five and fifteen years of experience, along with unique areas of expertise that equip them to sit with a wide range of people and stories. All of our coaches are required to complete ongoing coaching and story work training each year to maintain accreditation. In addition, our team is overseen by a professional therapist who provides accountability, guidance, feedback, and support to ensure every coach continues to grow in both skill and integrity.Â
Traditional life coaching vs. trauma informed coaching?
What’s the difference between traditional life coaching and trauma informed coaching, both from a biblical and neurological perspective? Traditional life coaching focuses on where you are now and helps you move toward your preferred future. It is powerful and centered on asking the right questions, setting clear goals, and creating actionable steps for growth.
But sometimes, even with the best tools, you hit a wall and find yourself stuck in the same patterns, wondering why lasting change feels out of reach. Trauma informed coaching goes deeper. Instead of only focusing on forward movement, it explores the why behind your behaviors, taking into consideration how past stories of harm have shaped your present behaviors, emotions, and even your nervous system sensations. It gently uncovers the experiences and beliefs that have formed how you think, feel, and respond. This approach does not just identify those deeper narratives, it helps bring healing to them.
Trauma informed coaching still engages forward action, but in a way that integrates every part of the individual, with a focus on heart transformation rather than behavior modification alone. By integrating biblical truth and neuroscience, this approach supports true and lasting transformation. As your brain rewires and your beliefs are renewed, you begin to experience change from the inside out. You do not just learn to do things differently, you begin to live differently. Trauma informed coaching helps you heal the past, transform your present, and step confidently into your God given calling.
